While it may not look like much is happening at first glance, progress is definitely underway! Crews continue to work behind the scenes installing essential utilities like water and internet, and construction has begun on the new road between the future building and the cemetery.

In the coming weeks, a major milestone is ahead - the arrival of the steel for the new building. Once steel installation begins, the Parish Hall will be temporarily closed and will remain so until all steel work is completed. During this time, the hall will only be available for funeral needs.

We don't have an exact reopening date just yet, but it could be as late as the end of August. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we move forward with this exciting project!

We are officially coming out of the ground! Many people have asked, "I thought this was a metal building - what's with the brick?" What you're seeing is our "safer" room. For the first time, well have a storm shelter on our campus. While this is certainly not a FEMA-rated shelter, it will provide a safe place to go if a storm suddenly approaches. This space will also serve double duty as storage and a kitchen for the hall once everything is complete.

You may also have noticed work taking place between the cemetery and the new building behind the rectory. That work includes a new road, improved drainage for the Discipleship Center, and a new entrance to the cemetery.

All this progress is happening as we wait for the concrete pad to fully cure. Once that's ready, we'll begin going vertical with the steel, which should be delivered in early May.

4/20/2026

The pad for the new building has officially been poured - now it's time to let it cure. The longer it cures, the stronger it becomes, which is exactly what we need before the structural steel arrives early next month. In the meantime, work isn't slowing down. Our plumbers and electricians are getting started on exterior rough-ins, including connecting sewer and water lines. We'll also be backfilling around the building, and you'll soon see the surrounding roadway begin to take shape.

Things are moving right along, and it's exciting to watch it all come together!

We put everything in God’s hands and trust in His care for us always, even when things don’t go our way!  The farmers need the rain, but the construction workers do not.  We are making progress, but the weather is just not wanting to cooperate as we had hoped.  We had hoped to have all the slab poured by the end of the week, however, they poured as much as they could.  All the rough-ins are nearly complete, and hopefully, this week we will finish the slab!

We’re excited to share a fresh update on the Discipleship Center!

All of the underground electrical work has been successfully roughed in, and our plumbing team is continuing to make steady progress on their portion. One of the most exciting milestones: part of the floor has now been poured! If all goes as planned, we’re expecting the remainder of the floor to be completed next week. It’s incredible to see things taking shape, and we’re so grateful for how far this project has come. Thank you to everyone who has supported, given, and prayed; this wouldn’t be possible without you. Please continue to keep this project in your prayers as we move into the next phase!

Construction on the new Discipleship Center has officially begun. Last week marked a bittersweet milestone as the old parish school building was demolished. While this building held many memories for parishioners, the parish remains committed to Growing into our Future while Preserving our Past, including plans to preserve historic elements such as the church’s rose window. Parishioners interested in helping with preservation efforts are encouraged to reach out.⁣

⁣Over the next few weeks, construction will create temporary parking and campus disruptions as crews prepare the building foundation. Parishioners are asked to reserve north church parking for elderly members and families with small children, with additional parking available near the rectory. Parking conditions are expected to improve as construction progresses.⁣ ⁣ Please continue praying for the safety of the construction workers and for the success of the project.

Dear St. Rose Parish Family,

I truly do mean “family”. I am so grateful to all of you for everything you do for our parish. I never imagined that, in my priesthood, I would be blessed to serve you for so long. Your commitment and dedication are incredible. We truly are a family! I constantly see you helping one another, lifting each other up, and living your faith in ways that make me so proud.

Today, I want to offer a shout out of gratitude to everyone who has served on our Councils and Committees over the years. If you only knew the countless hours these members devote to advising me (and yes, I need plenty of it!) in serving our parish, you would be amazed. Please take a moment to thank any of these members, past or present, who have been so valuable to both me and our parish.

There are times when we disagree and times when we agree. We have tough conversations and good conversations. But what I appreciate most about these members is that they are not “yes” people. They challenge my way of thinking and help me see the bigger picture. And yet, they remain supportive of whatever we decide together as a group. To all of you – THANK YOU!

I am excited to announce that, following our meeting with the diocese, the Finance Council has unanimously approved a project totaling $4.175M. With our cash on hand and the pledges we expect over the next three years, and while remaining fiscally responsible to both present and future parishioners, the Finance Council believes this is a wonderful opportunity to invest in our parish. As I mentioned during the meetings this past weekend, the diocese has been incredible to work with and has played a major role in getting us to this point. This will not be easy, but it is possible and fiscally responsible. We are challenging ourselves, yes, but we did the same when we built the church. At that time when many doubted we could pay it off in ten years, we did it in just two. (More on that below.)

As we presented this past weekend, there were three alternates:

1.       Finish the three multi-purpose rooms that can open into one large space ($136,000)

2.       Complete the gathering area for smaller events and after-Mass gatherings ($115,000)

3.       Add a covered drop-off for the new building ($81,000)

As of today, these alternates will be delayed unless additional funds or pledges come in specifically for those purposes.

This is truly an exciting time for our parish; while a little scary, it’s exciting for our future! I am deeply grateful for your dedication to carrying out our parish’s mission. The success of our building projects has always come down to two things: your commitment and the strength of our fundraising efforts.

I want to give a huge thank you to Nick Richmond & Ashley Cooper, who founded the Golf Tournament, and to Jill Albers & Julie Peintner, who founded the Parish Auction. And of course, I would be remiss if I did not mention a special donor, who continues to donate a car to raffle each year and who supports us in other ways throughout the year. Thank you, all of you, for your ongoing commitment. We must continue to support and strengthen these fundraising efforts.

We have so much to be thankful for. Please continue to pray for the success of our building projects and our campaign, but most importantly, give thanks to St. Rose, whose hand has been in all of this, and whose intercession on our behalf is so powerful. I have always said that this lovely lady gets me into more “trouble”, because when she asks for something that brings souls closer to heaven, she always gets her way.

Your very proud Pastor,

Fr. Dan

During the Advent Season, it is a time of anticipation, of reflection, and of preparation. As we look at all our parish has accomplished, we continue to be so very appreciative and thankful for the support and generosity for our capital campaign to fund the creation of our Discipleship Center. We have much to anticipate and prepare for as the opportunities are endless to better serve our parish, our community, and to grow our catholic faith in our new space.

There are many ways to make a gift to the capital campaign and to fulfill your pledge commitment. Gifts may be cash, check or credit card, appreciated assets to include stocks, bonds; commodities or personal property, real estate, life insurance, or IRA distributions. IRA distributions can provide additional tax benefits. If you have questions about this or any of the other giving options, please contact the parish office.

Thank you to all who have returned your commitment to our parish capital campaign - it is greatly appreciated. If you have not, it is not too late, and we welcome your support to the project. Commitment cards, either a one-time gift or a 3-year pledge, are available in the back of the church or in the parish office.

11/18/25

Over the past several months, the campaign committee has worked on educating the parish on the project and what it means to St. Rose – today and in the future. Our work has been based on the previous and ongoing work of the building and finance committees, as well as the church  leadership. With so many people volunteering and giving to this campaign it demonstrates that we have a special community of committed members and a great future ahead. As we continue in this effort, please join me in celebrating today, and offer a prayer of Thanksgiving to St. Rose of Lima who we have entrusted this entire project to! We have received many gifts to the capital campaign! A special thank you to those who returned their  commitment cards and the many volunteers who gave of their time. Please continue to pray for our campaign and our parish.

10/22/25

Your generosity and commitment to your parish is outstanding and truly exemplifies the future of St. Rose. We have received many gifts to the capital campaign! A special thank you to those who returned their commitment cards and the many volunteers who gave of their time.

Thank you letters will be coming out soon. If you made a pledge, reminders will also be sent based on your commitment card. They may be returned to the Parish office or put in the collection basket. When making a gift to the Capital Campaign, please note it so we may account for it properly.

If you have not returned your commitment card, please do so as soon as possible. You may bring it to the church office or put it in the Saturday/Sunday collection. If you have not received your commitment packet, please call the church office.

Your time, your support, and your commitment to St. Rose is greatly appreciated! We are very pleased about the early response from our parishioners. Please continue to pray for our campaign and our parish.

As a reminder, all giving is confidential. Thank you for your consideration to this important effort. For additional information on the plans, please refer to the brochure you received in the mail or explore our Capital Campaign page on the website!

9/3/25

On Wednesday, September 17th, a brief training will be held following 6:30 p.m. Mass for all who have volunteered to be a home visitor. Packets will be available with your home visit assignments. Thank you to all the parishioners who recruited home visitors and to the parishioners who said yes to be a home visitor. This is important to the success of the campaign and is greatly appreciated!

Campaign Sunday is September 21st and we ask that you welcome these visitors and the opportunity to be a part of a major project for our parish. Please continue to pray for the success of the capital campaign for our parish and its future. Together we will enhance St. Rose, where we gather as a community to share and grow our faith.

8/30/25

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Golf Tournament and Car Raffle. Together, the two fundraisers brought in just over $83,000 in profit. This was a record year in profit for our golf tournament. Thank you to everyone who had a hand in making these fundraisers successful! We are grateful to all of you and truly are a blessed parish!

8/27/25

Thank you to all who have volunteered to be a home visitor - it is appreciated! And thank you to all who called and recruited these important volunteers - it is also appreciated!

Many are asking when they will be able to make their commitment to the Capital Campaign to build our Discipleship Center - and that time is just around the corner. Shortly you will receive in the mail a brochure outlining the project and other important information about the campaign and how you can support the effort and invest in our parish.

On September 21st, during mass, we will commission our project volunteers. That afternoon, they will be out making visits to their assigned parish homes. They will be visiting each parish family and leaving a packet for them to think about, pray about as a family, and decide their involvement. This will be your opportunity to support this important parish project.

On September 28th, they will be returning to the same parish family homes and pick up the completed packet in a sealed envelope and return them to the parish office. All giving to the campaign will be confidential and anonymous.

Your continued prayers for the success of the capital campaign are important for our parish and its future. Together we will enhance St. Rose where we gather as a community to share and grow our faith.

Parishioners - be ready to receive your phone call to be a home visitor during the month of August to assist in the capital campaign. Please be open
and willing to be a part of this effort to grow our parish.

As you know, St. Rose has embarked on a Capital Campaign to build a Discipleship Center. An important aspect of this campaign involves volunteers contacting members through a personal visit. Each visitor will be asked to simply deliver sealed envelopes, with campaign information, to approximately 5 households of the parish on Sunday, September 21.The following Sunday, September 28, visitors will return to the same parish households and pick up their commitment card in a sealed security envelope.

This task should only take about one hour of your time each Sunday. Visitors will be fully trained on how to make these contacts and the best part is you will not have to ask people for money! The success of this campaign depends on our ability to visit all of our fellow parishioners.

If you have not been called and would like to help, please call a committee member or the office - your participation is appreciated and welcomed!

Please continue to pray for the success of the capital campaign for our parish and its future. Together we will enhance St. Rose where we gather as a community to share our grow our faith.

Imagine a space where we can gather to grow as a parish community, where we can share our faith, where we can provide classes for our youth and our adults, where we can gather socially for a variety of different activities, where our food pantry can have needed space. The Discipleship Center will be that space. With its flexibility to meet our needs for our many ministries and gatherings - be they parish, family, or community - it will provide wonderful space for decades to come.

More details will be forthcoming as parish leadership continue their work on the details and design of the Discipleship Center.

Our campaign committee is calling to secure volunteers to help recruit home visitors. We hope you are willing and say yes. A short training will be held and a list provided to assist you in your commitment. Thank you to those who have volunteered - we appreciate it! If you haven't been asked, let us know, we welcome your willingness to volunteer.

Please keep the project and the volunteers in your prayers.
